Kaha Kiknavelidze is a founder and managing partner of Rioni Capital. He oversees the entire investment process, from idea generation to portfolio construction. Prior to founding Rioni Capital, Kaha had 12 years of experience in sell-side equity research. He led UBS's highly rated Russian oil and gas research team, which was ranked number 1 in the 2006 Institutional Investor survey. Before that he worked for eight years at Troika Dialog in Moscow, covering the metals & mining, utilities and oil & gas sectors. Kaha has first-hand experience of some of the most severe financial crises of modern times, including Russia’s economic collapse in 1998 and the global financial crisis in 2008. He serves as an independent director on the Board of Bank of Georgia, Georgia’s leading commercial bank with a listing on the LSE. He has an MBA from Emory University, Atlanta, US, and a Bachelors’ degree in Economics from Georgian Agrarian University, Tbilisi, Georgia. Kaha was born in Tbilisi and has lived for extended periods in Atlanta, Moscow and London, where he is currently based.

Ivan Jankovic joined Rioni in January 2010. He specialises in Russia & the CIS, while also taking care of marketing and investor relations. Ivan has 7 years of experience in capital markets. He worked for three years as a broker at UBS in Moscow, where he was responsible for institutional clients and participated in a number of IPOs in CIS markets. Prior to that, Ivan had research roles at UBS Brunswick and Renaissance Capital. He has Masters’ degrees in modern languages from Edinburgh and in Slavic Studies from Columbia University. He was born in London, where he is now based after several stints abroad, including 6 years in Moscow.
